Few months after my wedding day in the middle of the wedding season in Croatia, I have finally found enough spare time to collect my experiences and share my wedding details with you.
Even a Wedding Planner needs a Coordinator
Experience is the single most useful perk that comes with being a wedding planner who is planning her own wedding in Croatia. I have planned every detail of my wedding. And I have also planned which vendor I will entrust each part of the wedding to. Therefore, I knew that the execution of my wedding is in hands of the most professional and experienced vendors I have ever worked with. This gave me a huge confidence boost. I knew that I could sleep soundly!
Although I did not have any doubt that I can rely on my vendors, I still wasn’t be completely sure if everything will play out as planned. As a wedding planner I am aware of countless details that could go wrong during any wedding. I was sure that when I put my wedding dress on, I would still keep worrying about everything going according to the schedule. Fortunately, I let my trusted Flammeum wedding coordination team handle the wedding coordination. Even a wedding planner needs a coordinator!
Being Surrounded by Loved Ones was the Highlight of our Wedding
The decision of hiring a wedding coordinator allowed me to turn my focus completely towards my husband and my loved ones. I couldn’t think of anything else but walking down the aisle towards the love of my life. My heart was pounding whole day and I just wanted to share my love and joy with every friend and member of our families.
I know, it sounds like the biggest cliché, but I indeed felt like that. My husband shared my feelings. It was very important to us that our friends and family surround us on that day. As sign of our gratitude, we wanted to throw them a great party. Keep this in mind: if you set out to have a good time, everyone else will have it too!
Venue of a Sentimental Value
Our wedding ceremony took place on a sun-bathed spring day, in a small church near the city of Poreč. My husband was baptized in that church. He was born and raised in a village nearby. So, this place has a special meaning to us.
The wedding ceremony was the most magical part of the day. Thus, we wanted to keep some of the traditional rituals. One such ritual that we honored is not seeing each other until walking down the aisle. Our mothers escorted us both while entering the church and listening to the enchanting tones performed by Mateo Pilat. Those moments were very emotional. I will cherish them forever. It felt like the time stopped for a moment. After the ceremony, a group of accordionists entertained our guests in front of the church.
Dinner by the Ocean
Next off, we went to Isabella Valamar Island Resort in Poreč for our reception. As soon as my husband and I first visited this resort, it left such a strong impression on us, that we decided then and there that we are going to organize our wedding reception here. Therefore, we didn’t spend much time brainstorming which would be our perfect wedding venue. We simply checked the available dates to choose the one that suits us.
Resort is located on the fairytale island of St. Nicholas. So, on our way to the resort, we had a pleasure to enjoy a short boat ride on a sunny and warm summer day. On the island, guests were welcomed with the delicious Istrian snacks, drinks and sounds of Acoustic Lounge Trio.
Wedding of Timeless Elegance
We considered the reception as the extension of us, our personalities and style. So, we went for a vibe of elegance and simplicity, with a modern touch. Studio Brzak fulfilled our desires for the timeless look, with an all-white interior.
Our floral vision was brought to life by stunning arrangements comprising of ivory roses and white hydrangeas. Ballroom was filled with white flowers in clear glass vases, accompanied by neutral-colored details. Elevated centerpieces were placed on each table to add charm, and enhance the sophisticated white theme. Delicate white florals with a dash of beige will never go out of style. Utilizing a neutral wedding color palette enhanced both the venue and the overall wedding design.
Beauty is in the Details
To accompany the classical wedding style, the sit-down dinner was complete with an elegant menu. A tastefully embellished ivory tiered cake, and a delicious sweet corner prepared by Isidora Patisserie by Izo complemented the classing statement.
Ladies from Pi Linia filled our wedding day with special details as wedding invitations, printed menus and escort cards. I fell in love with their printouts from the first moment I have laid my eyes on them.
As huge chocolate lovers, my husband and I gifted our guests with custom chocolates. A local producer Taman Chocolates created the chocolates and printed our names on them.
The band Footloose kept guests dancing into the night. Their performance was wonderful. On top of that they listened to all of our musical wishes. They even went as far to learn a few songs which were on our wish list. With their support, the reception turned into a great party. Is there a better way to celebrate a wedding than with amazing musicians?
Make it Last Forever
Photographers Flick Factory and videographer Ivan Crnjak were there to capture all the details and catch all our magical moments. Our memory of the wedding day would not be complete without their efforts. We have displayed some of their work in this blog. While talking about the wedding photos, I can’t leave out my husband’s wonderful contribution to the reception. He wanted to have a unique point of interaction for the guests. My husband knew that a photo panel would catch everyone’s interest and draw our friends in. But we couldn’t find a photo panel which we like, so he created one himself. I must say, his plan on bringing people together succeeded magnificently.

Wedding Planner Advice
As a wedding planner, I wish to share a few thoughts with other newlyweds that are getting ready to plan their destination weddings in Croatia. There is no such thing as too many details, too many flowers, too many photos, or too many anything. Don’t let anyone tell you how your wedding should look like. It is your wedding day, so take control over it. And have fun while planning it!
